Disrupt Dominant Frequencies is a record of our joint and individual art practices and will develop as an extension and on-line presence of future projects. Our art practices centre on discussion, collaboration and collective action, and encompass writing and curating relevant to specific situations and contexts. We are currently based in Liverpool, UK where we have recently pursued an ongoing exploration in to the systems surrounding European Capital of Culture status, collaborating on a number of projects that have aimed to activate debate around issues prevalent within models of culturally-led urban regeneration, including the commercialisation and globalisation of cities and art, the privatisation and homogenisation of urban space, Western cultural colonialism, the instrumentalisation of culture, and the role and position of the artist. |
